More than 6,5 million visitors have been fascinated by our reconstruction of the boy king's tomb, featuring around 1,000 replica artefacts crafted in Egypt. Now in Zurich, Madrid, and Budapest.
Regular readers of our blog posts and newsletters might remember that we have twice now had to postpone TEEM, The Experience Economy Meeting (the revamped version of TEM, the Touring Exhibitions Meeting), which we had planned to bring to Downtown Los Angeles.
Our arts, media and entertainment magazine is an annual publication for our friends & family, our fans, our artistic collaborators and business partners from across the globe.
Hello and welcome to the home of SC Exhibitions on the web. Here you'll find everything you need to know about our touring exhibitions, the events and experiences we’re involved in and our editorial platform Showbiz Culture.
We create exhibitions that travel worldwide, and we host exhibitions in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland. “SC” stands for Semmel Concerts, the large German live entertainment producer of which we are a division. Semmel Concerts ranks number four worldwide and number two in Europe for ticket sales based on annual ranking of entertainment promoters for the years 2018 and 2019 by Pollstar magazine, a leading industry publication. We are part of EVENTIM LIVE, Europe's leading ticketing and live entertainment company. We are also embedded in a strong international network of museums, science centres, cultural venues, and the creative industries and since 2012 have been hosting our very own convention for producers and hosts of touring exhibitions, “The Touring Exhibitions Meeting” (TEM).
More than 890,000 visitors came to see our latest exhibition, “Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes”, during its world premiere season at MoPOP, the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia and the TELUS World of Science in Edmonton and the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.
More than 6,5 million visitors across the globe have seen our recreation of the tomb of the Egyptian boy king Tutankhamun in our exhibitions “Tutankhamun: His Tomb and His Treasures” and “The Discovery of King Tut”, an exhibition concept touring with three units: 2021 on display in in Zurich/Switzerland, Seoul/South Korea, and 2021/22 in Mannheim/Germany. 2022 will see the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the tomb, and we still have a few slots open in 2021/22.
Our projects “Magic City – The Art of the Street” and “Flying Pictures” complete our portfolio. In 2016 and 2017, SC Exhibitions explored the popularity of this art form with Magic City, an ever-changing street art project, which reinvented itself at each new city it visited. Featuring over 60 of the world’s best street artists, it became the world’s most complete touring exhibition of this genre. The performance “Flying Pictures” has been staged by the Flying Steps, a breakdance crew based in Berlin, and the Brazilian artist duo OSGEMEOS, it combines elements of art, music and dance performance.
From 2013 to 2019 we hosted what we call “Exhibition Summer at the Olympic Park” in Munich. With over 1.4 million visitors in 7 years and 7 exhibitions it was an established feature of Munich’s cultural calendar.
For more about our projects and our team, check out the regular news from the desk of our director and read our magazine Showbiz Culture. The magazine speaks about our own exhibitions and live entertainment projects but more than that it's a compendium of stunning photography, journeys through our work, and cultural projects from around the world.
Glad to have you on our site!
